Introduction to techniques and current state of the art in solid state quantum information processing devices, with a focus on superconducting quantum bits. Topics include the basics of applied superconductivity, Josephson junction, qubit design and simulation, interactions with microwave photons, qubit control and decoherence mitigation in the presence of noise, measurement, error detection/correction, and a survey of other solid-state qubit modalities. Exposes students to both fundamentals and the research state-of-art.
